The Gem Clinic was founded in 2008 by Katherine and Brent Kohler to be a one-stop source for optimal health through Nutritional Therapy, education and supplements. Their goal is to offer a World Class facility where Practitioners and clients can interact in a pleasant, professional setting. Brent is a devotee of nutritional therapy. His wife, Katherine, is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner herself, with years of experience to her credit.

In addition to creating a haven for a healthy population, the Kohlers and The Gem Clinic actively participate in bettering our community through their support of and work in:

Rebecca has capped a 40+-year interest in health and nutrition by becoming a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. She is most interested in helping people of all ages overcome addictions to all sorts of substances ranging from alcohol and drugs to carbohydrates and chocolate. Nikki Filmore, NTP

Nikki has always been intrigued by the body and its amazing power to heal itself if given the right "fuel." As an NTP since 2007, she is passionate about helping others get to the root causes of their nutritional needs and working to find the solution that best fits each individual. Margaret "Mara" Gunn, RN, NTP

Mara has been a Registered Nurse since 1972, and recently added Nutritional Therapy Practitioner to her areas of expertise. Her years of experience in the health care field have made it clear that nutrition is fundamental to chronic diseases and health issues. Janet Munson, BA, NTP

Janet is a 2007 NTP graduate, with an additional certificate in Hypnotherapy. She originally entered the field to heal her own health problems and now is dedicated to helping others with theirs. Rachel Olivas, NTP

In addition to her Nutritional Therapy practice at The Gem Clinic, Rachel is a Nutritional Consultant for Healthcare providers throughout Western Washington. Rachel's background includes medical sales and a life-long hobby of studying nutrition with a particular interest in Detoxification. Victoria Winterowd, NTP

With 12 years in the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Victoria experienced her own medical crisis. After two years of searching, she found the help she needed through a nutritionally oriented doctor. With full health restored, Victoria has become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner to share the wellness she has found with others who seek it. She can help people with any health issue, at any age. With more than 20 years of experience in the field, Birkich is an expert in whole foods and supplements.

Kyle Bischoff

Specializing in growing companies for more than 25 years, Bischoff is a Strategic Property Management Analyst in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. He has operated several successful start-up companies, both as owner and manager.

Nikki Filmore, NTP

Filmore has been a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner since 2007. In addition to her full-time NTP background, she brings eleven years of progressive administrative management experience to the Board.

Roger George, M.D.

Recently retired from the US Army after 27 years of active duty service, Dr. George remains active in the practice of Ophthalmology at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. He is one of only two experts in the field of Ocular Immunology and Inflammation in the State of Washington.

Josh Nickerson

Nickerson holds two Masters Degrees and specializes in Nuclear Engineering for the United States Navy. When his commitment is fulfilled with the Navy, he will be pursuing his MBA from Stanford, then assuming the role as President and CEO of The Gem Clinic.

Rachel Olivas, NTP

Olivas is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and nutritional healthcare consultant for Biotics NW. She is a former Board Member and current Secretary/Treasurer of the Nutritional Therapy Association.

Bob Ottiboni

Ottiboni is a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in franchising and marketing.

Doug Whitman

Whitman is the Development Director / Administrator for Liberty Healthcare in Wilmington, NC. With an MBA from Duke, a Master of Health Administration equivalent, and ground-up experience in the healthcare industry, he adds skills in operations, finance and sales/marketing to the Board.
