Margaret "Mara" Gunn, RN, NTP

Mara has been a Registered Nurse since 1972, and recently added Nutritional Therapy Practitioner to her areas of expertise. Her years of experience in the medical/ surgical, cardiac, and cancer nursing fields have made it clear that nutrition is fundamental to chronic diseases and health issues. As an NTP, she can take a "hands-on" approach to managing her clients' nutritional needs.

Mara believes nutrition and nutrient balances are foundational to our health. We have gotten used to the quick fixes with medications or procedures that really do not address the basic problem that may be leading to your symptoms.

Chronic illnesses do not develop overnight and will not be relieved overnight. However, balancing nutritional factors in the individual’s health program has been shown to improve overall health. While many diseases cannot be cured, balancing the body’s nutritional needs can certainly enhance the quality of life one can have in spite of the disease.

With her background dealing with chronic diseases and cancer, Mara is focusing on using good nutrition as a prevention strategy for adults of any age.

Mara has a passion for improving quality of life. There are many avenues that may work to improve quality of life. She forms a partnership with her clients to find and follow the one most suitable for the client.
