Rebecca Cody, NTP

Rebecca capped a 40+-year interest in health and nutrition by becoming a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner in 2007. She has been passionate about nutrition ever since she learned how practically everything that goes wrong in the human body is caused by nutritional depletion or lack of essential nutrients. This was in about 1965.

Over the years she has seen the health of Americans slide down a very steep slope, growing worse with each passing decade, mostly because we eat so many processed, depleted, and chemically contaminated foods, and not enough basic, healthy food as it comes from nature.

She believes that if we want to be healthy we must return to a traditional diet – the kind of eating that people thrived on for thousands and thousands of years, including animal proteins and fats. Ample evidence and research shows that our modern epidemics didn’t exist in prehistoric times.

She is most interested in helping people of all ages overcome addictions to all sorts of substances ranging from alcohol and drugs to carbohydrates and chocolate. She will love them and help them if they are ready to take responsibility for their own health, to learn with an open mind, and make some changes so they can live abundantly, happily, and healthfully. This is a journey that takes courage and dedication, but it is one of the most rewarding things people can do for themselves. She will walk the walk with them.

In addition to nutritional therapy, Rebecca loves walking, and spend an hour most weekday mornings tramping my South Olympia neighborhood with two friends. She makes time for nurturing organic veggies and beautiful flowers in her garden. She listens to talking books – mostly novels – while doing mindless household chores or driving. Along with her husband, she loves travel and playing with their eight grandkids. And, oh yes – there’s that nutrition blog she keeps thinking she’ll pull together…
